You couldn’t pay most of us enough to relive Jr. High. It’s a time in life when . . . insecurity and fear run wild,
the struggle to gain independence runs deep, one bad decision now can impact the rest of one's life,
having to decide what "group" to belong to is a daily challenge, depending upon Mom and Dad's faith is no longer good enough. It’s an awesome opportunity for God to intervene!
Many of us look back at our Sr. High experience through a lens of regret. It’s a time in life when . . .
pressures to perform well run high, anxiety about the future lingers daily, trying to live the Christ-like life is mocked, pressures to experiment are an every day norm, the rites of passage to adulthood are pursued.
But ultimately it’s a time for God to pierce and shape the heart, mind, and soul!
A time in life when life-long love can be found, when God sends you out to change the world, when counting true friends on one hand is becoming easier and easier, where regret can easily come to the surface over past decisions, when independence can feel very lonely . . . the world of a young adult . . . a time of extreme opportunity but also, possibly, extreme discouragement . . . what a time for God to make us His own, call us out, and gather us together.
