WHO WE ARE SERVICES AND DIRECTIONS WHAT TO EXPECT MINISTRIES CONTACT US

Missions is more than just missionaries living in primitive huts on faraway continents. It's more than slideshows and souvenirs. More than tribal dances and grass skirts. Missions is laying aside cultural assumptions and the familiarity of interacting with people of similar backgrounds. It is crossing cultural lines both here in the United States and in other countries. Missions is daring to love people who aren't like you, and being willing to give everything up in order to do that.

Missions is essentially what Jesus came to do, to give the good news to the lost. In our desire to be like Jesus, we at LifeSpring invest ourselves in various aspects of missions.

We:
GO to other cultures to share Jesus.
SEND missionaries by helping to train and prepare them.
SUPPORT the ones who go with prayer, finances, and encouragement.
WELCOME international people who have moved to the Cincinnati area.

On a global scale, we look for opportunities to serve people who have never heard about Jesus. We are involved in these types of ministries in Eastern Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, Northern Africa and with Hispanics in New York City. And because we place great value in training nationals to teach their own people about Christ, we support training programs in the Philippines, India, Zimbabwe and Eastern Europe.

Throughout the year we host special events to help our members understand the work going on around the world. We provide opportunities to go on short-term mission trips to assist our missionaries. We realize that an investment in missions is an investment in eternity.

Why go?

  • Mary, who was here in the fall, has asked us to come. LifeSpring has adopted an area called Kosovo in the Mathare Slums outside Nairobi. We have committed to help the church, school, and residents of that area. They need our help.
  • If you sponsor a child, you will have an opportunity to see them.
  • This might be your response to Jesus’ words “Go into all the world.”

What can you do there?

  • We need people to help with a Vacation Bible School—tell Bible stories, teach crafts, help with recreation.
  • We need medical people to set up medical screening—doctors, nurses, people with any medical skill along with others to assist them in paperwork, etc.
  • We need people to be “handymen.” There are a lot of things that would benefit from a hammer or screwdriver. We may also be able to install skylights in some of the homes.
  • • Perhaps this year we can do another mural on the side of a building. Can you assist with a paintbrush once we have the design?
  • We need people to hug children. Many are desperate for adults to love on them. Can you give hugs?
